Originally a photojournalist and editorial photographer working with UK and international media, Ross later studied cinematography at The National Film and Television School, going on to light commercials and several award-winning short films. He is now an experienced Location Manager in film and advertising, having collaborated with a wide range of award-winning directors and production designers.
Ross’s career spans both high end advertising and feature film production. His advertising work includes campaigns for Jaguar, Land Rover, Nike and Coca Cola, collaborating with directors such as Yorgos Lanthimos, Michael Gracey and Shane Meadows. Alongside this he has worked extensively on feature films for Warner Bros, Paramount, Marvel and Amazon MGM as well as on numerous independent productions. His work has taken him across Europe and North Africa, including six months managing a local team in Estonia while working on The Agency. With a photographer’s eye and a strong photojournalism background, Ross brings a creative perspective to every brief, works confidently under pressure, and engages well with people from all walks of life.
In addition to his film work, Ross is a Director of Salt Film, a well-respected collective of Location Managers and assistants with an extensive and diverse UK location library. He was also invited by The National Film and Television School to help develop its Location Management course, with many of his former students now enjoying successful careers in the industry.
Most recently, Ross served as Supervising Location Manager on The Thomas Crown Affair, directed by Michael B. Jordan. The film was shot across the UK, London, and Italy and is due for release in March 2027.
